CSIR Earth Science Exam paper shall divided into three important phases.
Phase-A
This part shall carry 20 question pertaining to Quantitative Reasoning, General Science, & Research Aptitude and Analysis. The candidates shall be required to Answer any 15 question. Each shall be two marks. The total marks Allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.
Phase-B
This part shall contain 50 Multiple Choice Question (MCQs) generally covering the Topics given in the syllabus. A candidates shall be required to answer any 35 Question. Every question shall be two marks. The total marks allocated to this phase shall be 70 out of 200 marks. NET Exam Pattern.
Phase-C
This part shall contain 80 question that are designed to a candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts or application of the ‘scientific’ concepts. The question shall be of analytical nature where a applicant is expected to appear the scientific Knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. A candidate shall be required to answer any 25 question. Each question shall bee of 4 marks. The total Marks allocated in this phase shall be 100 out of 200 marks.
For part ‘A’ and ‘B’ there will be negative marking @25% for each wrong answer. The Negative marking as follow in phase-C shall be @ 33% for each wrong answer.
To enable the candidates to go through the question paper booklet shall be distributed 15 minutes before the time of the examination. The Answer sheet shall be distributed at the scheduled time of the written examination. On completion of the exam i.e. at the scheduled closing time of the exam.
The applicants shall be allowed to carry the question paper booklet No. candidate is allowed to carry the Question paper Booklet in case he/she choose to leave the test before the scheduled closing time.
