GATE Exam Pattern

  • Courses: It is held for engineering courses (M.Tech/ME)
  • Total Papers: There is only one paper of GATE consisting of 100 marks.
  • Total Questions: The number of questions asked in the test will be 65 questions of objective type and numerical answer type.
  • Time duration: Total time to solve the question paper will be 3 Hrs.
  • Mode of Test: Online Test
  • New Paper: the XE paper now has a new section on atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (section-H). With this number of sections in the XE paper has increased to eight (A-H).
  • Exam Centre: IIT Guwahati Zone (Burdwan), IIT Guwahati Zone (Dibrugarh) and IIT Kanpur Zone (Gorakhpur) has been added as new centres by the authority.
GATE Exam Syllabus
