Adaptability Test-1 for Bothe Group-X & Group-Y Trades

All applicants who pass the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will have to undertake Adaptability Test-1 (Objective type is written exam) which is to assess the suitability of an applicant for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.

Adaptability Test-2 for Bothe Group-X & Group-Y Trades

All applicants who cleared adaptability test-1 will have to undertake adaptability of India Air Force (IAF) and are able to adjust to the military way of life.

IAF Medical Test Detail 2018

IAF Physical Standard, Medical Test, Salary, Recruitment Benefits 2018, Applicants who qualify adaptability test-2 will be issued with medical appointment letter a respective ASCs. It can also be download under applicants login on CASB website www.airmenselection.cdac.in for their medical examination at designated Medical Board Centre (MBC) on a specified date. Medical examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standard and policy in vogue on subject issue. The medical examination would also include Baseline Investigation of:

  • Blood Haemogram-Hb, TLC, DLC
  • Urine RE/ME
  • Biochemistry (Blood Sugar Fasting & PP, Serum Cholesterol, Urea-(Uric acid, Creatinine), LFT-(Serum Bilurubin, SGOT, SGPT).
  • X-Ray chest (PA view)
  • ECG(R)
IAF Pay & Allowances and Perquisites

Pay & Allowances/Salary Package: During training, a stipend of Rs.14,600/- per month will be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Military Service Pay (MSP), Group-X pay (applicable for Group-X Trades only) and Dearness Allowance (DA) will be as follows:

(1). Group-X Trades (Except Education Instructor Trade): Rs.33,100/- per month plus Dearness Allowance (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.  

(2). Group-X Trades (Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF,(IP), IAF(S) and Musician Trade): Rs.26,900/- per month plus Dearness Allowance (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.

IAF Career Progression and Post Retirement Benefits

Promotion: Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Warrant Officer (MWO). Opportunity to become a Commissioned Officer also exists for those airmen who qualify the prescribed examination, later during their services career.

Higher Education: Airmen are permitted to pursue higher educational qualification only after acquiring prescribed skill grade in their trade.
