The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology is a government institute. IIST offers many courses which is Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) and doctorate courses.
IIST Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D course or programmes
The minimum qualification Ph.D course are mentioned below.
- Master’s Degree in Science: Applicants have master’s degree in the relevant area with first class or equivalent in their Master’s degree. They have to pass CSIR NET, UGC NET, JEST or GATE in the relevant area.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology: Applicants have to complete their Master degree in the relevant area and obtain first class or equivalent score, they must have pursued their Master’s degree. Candidates with integrated master’s degree in engineering or technology from IITs and IISc with CGPA 9.0/10 can be considered without GATE.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology: Outstanding applicants with bachelor’s degree in Technology or Engineering with an excellent academic record and aptitude for research may be considered for direct admission in the Ph.D course. Such type of applicants have obtained CGPA of 9.0/10 or better and valid GATE score of 675 or better B.Tech or B.E. applicants from IITs with CGPA better than 9.0/10 do not need GATE.
