How to Join the Indian Military Academy?

There are several ways to join Indian Military Academy

Through NDA Exam

  • Candidates who pass the 10th and 12th standards are eligible for appearing in NDA.
  • The age limit of the male candidate should be between 16.5 years to 19 years.
  • Candidates should have a 12th-standard degree with PCM as the main subject.
  • Unmarried male candidates are eligible to write the exam.

Through CDSE

  • Through CDSE male graduates can join and they have to appear for CDSE written and pass the SSB exam.
  • Candidates must be Physically fit to join.
  • The age limit of the candidate should be between 19 years to 24 years.
  • There is no percentage bar that you need to get to apply for the exam.
  • The exam is conducted two times a year in the month of March and September.

Technical Graduate Course (TGC)

Candidates who are studying in their final year or completed B.Tech in required streams can join IMA through the technical graduate course between the age of 19 years to 25 years. The training should be one year.

University Entry Scheme

Candidates in the final or pre-final year of engineering will enter the scheme. The minimum percentage required is 60% and the age limit is between 20 and 25 years.

Physical Standards

Physical fitness is one of the most important for joining IMA and the candidate must fulfill some basic physical standards.

  • The candidate must be physically fit and have mental health.
  • Candidates should not have any disease.
  • Candidates do not have any skin infections, bone diseases, and joints in the body.
  • The participant’s chest must have a minimum 5 cm expansion.
  • The blood pressure should be expected.
  • A urine sample is evaluated, and any abnormalities are considered grounds for rejection.

Candidates who want to join members of IMA must have a degree in any field from a recognized university. Candidates must write an entrance exam to join the Indian Military Academy.
