Modi Scheme for Housewife 2023 | Details: Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) was launched in the year 2017. On meeting certain conditions regarding Maternal and Child Health Pregnant Women will receive a cash incentive of Rs. 5000/- directly into their bank account. The period of pregnancy requires a woman to take additional nutrition during the pregnancy and deliver a healthy child. The cash incentive provided with the help of three installments can be used to meet at least the daily requirement of nourishment for the use of pregnant women. The government is trying to bring about a change in this condition by redesigning several health schemes. In this article, we discuss the Modi Scheme for Housewife 2023.

Benefits of the Scheme

The scheme will be given to the first child in the family to fulfilling the scheme conditions. The amount of the scheme will be sent directly to the bank account through DBT.

First Installment: Rs. 1000/- for registration of pregnancy  

Second Installment: Rs. 2000/- after six months of pregnancy

Third Installment: Rs. 2000/- when the childbirth is registered and the child starts the first vaccine cycle including BCG, OPV, DPT, and Hepatitis-B

Objectives of Scheme

Providing cash compensation against wage loss so that the mother can take adequate rest before and after the birth of the first living child.

Promoting best nutrition and feeding practices to reduce infant mortality and malnutrition.

Promoting the use of health services and institutional care to reduce the risk of disease.

Highlights of the Scheme

Eligibility: Lactating mothers and pregnant women in case of the birth of the first child in the family.

Payable Amount: The amount payable is Rs. 5000/- and the amount is paid in three installments.

Implementing Platform: The implementing platform of the scheme is the integrated child development service or health infrastructure.

Implementing Department: The implementing department is the department of social welfare or the department of women and child development of the respective state.

How to Apply for Modi Scheme for Housewife 2023?

  • For registration and claiming the first installment, the mother-child protection card or copy of the beneficiary and her husband’s identity certificate and the beneficiary bank or post office account details and the duly filled form 1A will have to be submitted.
  • To claim the second installment, the beneficiary must submit a form 1B along with a copy of the MCP card at least one delivery check six months after conception.
  • To claim the third installment, a copy of the child’s birth registration from the beneficiary and the card clearly indicating that the child has completed the first stage of vaccination and together with the duly filled form 1C will have to be submitted.
  • If the application is made from time to time and all the necessary documents are attached, then the concerned officer will release the installment amount which will be directly deposited in the beneficiary bank account.

Offline

People can visit the nearest Anganwadi Centre (AWC) or a health facility that is approved by the government to avail of the maternity benefits of the scheme. The registration process must be completed within 150 dates of the Last Menstrual Period (LMP). They must submit the relevant documents to avail of the benefits.

Payment to Beneficiaries

  • Beneficiaries will not be paid by cheque or cash.
  • Transfers can take place only to the beneficiary bank or post office accounts through DBT.
