NDA Full Form In Army: National Defence Academy(NDA) exam is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air force wings of the Indian Naval Academy Course(INAC) and NDA. It is the most defense entrance exam in the country where both male and female candidates can apply. The exam is conducted in two stages. The UPSC prepares a list of candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks in the written exam. Those candidates are selected for SSB interviews for intelligence and personality test. NDA 1 exam is conducted for admission to the January batch and NDA 2 exam is conducted for admission to the July batch. The National Defence Academy is a joint services academy of the Indian Armed Forces and is located near the Khadakwasla dam in Pune, Maharashtra. The academy has produced 27 service chiefs of staff and the current chiefs of staff running operations at the three military bodies graduated from NDA.

NDA Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the NDA exam.

The candidate should be Indian.

Age Limit:

For the NDA 1 exam, the candidates who are born not before 02 July 2003, and not after 01 July 2006 are eligible for the exam.

For the NDA 2 exam, the candidates who are born between 02 January 2004 and 01 January 2007 are eligible for the exam.

The candidate must write the date of birth as mentioned in the matriculation certificate, secondary school leaving certificate, or any other equivalent certification recognized by the Indian university. Any other document proof will be accepted by the commission.

Educational Qualification:

The candidate should complete the 12th standard of education from any state or equivalent examination are eligible for the Army wing of the NDA.

For the Air Force and Naval wings of NDA, the candidate must have 12th standard with physics, chemistry, and mathematics from any state board.

Payscale: In the training period the candidate should receive a stipend of 56000/- per month. After completion of training, the ranks received by the cadets begin with salaries starting from 56000/- to 177500/- and increasing with the higher level grade.

How to fill out the NDA Application Form?

  • The candidate must visit the official website of UPSC.
  • Fill in the details like the name of the candidate, gender, date of birth, parents’ name, nationality, etc.
  • The candidate must pay the application fee through online payment by using a debit card, credit card, and internet banking.
  • Select the exam center and upload a photograph and signature.
  • The candidate should download the application form.
  • Take a printout copy of the application form for future reference.

Application Fees

  • The candidate needs to pay the application fee online or offline.
  • The application fee for the NDA exam is 100/-.
  • The application fee is exempted for SC and ST candidates.
  • The application fees can be paid online or by depositing the money in any branch of SBI.

Admit Card of NDA

UPSC releases the NDA admit card on the official site and it contains candidate name, roll number, exam center, exam date, exam timing, etc. The candidate will not be permitted to appear in the examination without their admit card.

Exam Pattern for NDA

The NDA exam is conducted in two sessions and there will be two papers in the NDA exam Mathematics and General Ability Test(GAT). The exam is conducted in an objective pattern and the languages are in both English and Hindi. The duration of the exam is 2 hours 30 minutes will be given for each exam.

NDA Results
