Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies institute was established in 1981.  It has been rewarded “Five Star” rating and “A” grade by the NAAC and UGC respectively. NMIMS has also been awarded an “A***” rating by CRISIL. Institute was granted “Deemed University” status by the UGC in 2003 and can therefore award full academic degrees to its students.

NMIMS offers Doctor of Philosophy Programme in various specializations for a minimum of 3 years a maximum of 5 years. Integrated M.Sc. – Ph.D. Programme is also available whereby M.Sc. Degree takes 2 years including 6 months project work and the entire programme takes 5 years.

Ph.D. (Biological Sciences) & Ph.D. (Chemistry)

For Biological Sciences

Passed M.Sc. Degree in Biology (Minimum 2 years Program) or a degree in allied fields such as M. B. B. S., M. Pharm., M. E. /M. Tech. (Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering)

For Chemistry (Regular Admission)

Passed M.Sc. Degree (Minimum 2 years Program) in Chemistry or in any branch of Chemical Sciences, Biochemistry or M. Pharm

For Chemistry (Professional Candidates): 

 M.Sc. Degree in Chemistry (Minimum 2 years Program) or any branch of Chemical Sciences or M. Pharm. or equivalent grade.

For Biological Sciences:

Passed Bachelor of Science in Biology, or B. Pharm., B. E./B. Tech. or equivalent grade.

Admission Process:

Students will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Test which will be of 70 Marks followed by Personal Interview for 30 Marks.

• Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Life sciences & Biochemistry – 50 marks

Chemical Sciences:

• Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry & Analytical Chemistry – 50 marks

Statistics:

• Logical reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language- 20 marks
• Probability, Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematical Statistics – 50 marks
