Registration window will become functional from the second week of March 2023 exam dates will be notified shortly. State level exam is conducted to employ skilled teachers for Primary and Upper Primary Level in the state of Tamil Nadu. TNTET consists of 2 papers viz. Paper 1 (classes I – V) and Paper 2 (classes VI-VIII).

As per the eligibility standards defined by the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), given below is a brief for the same:

Age Limit: 

• Age for those candidates who are willing to apply should not be less than 18 years and should not be more than 40 years.
• Age relaxation will be applicable only to those who belong to reserved category as per the Govt. rules and regulations as well.

Education Qualification:

For Paper 1:

• Ed in Nursery Teacher Training of 2 years BTC in Urdu and BTC/ Diploma in Teacher Education / Diploma in Elementary Education for classes I to V.
• Those who are appearing for D.E.Ed/B. Ed degree is also eligible to apply.
• Those who are visually impaired are not eligible to write Paper I.

For Paper 2:

• A. /B.Sc. / B.Lit. degree with Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History and Geography as major subjects.
• Lit., (Tamil) degree should possess either B.Ed. or D.T.Ed. or TPT.
