UPSC conducts CDS Exam (II). UPSC CDS (Combined Defence Services) Exam is conducted by the UPSC two times a year for admissions to (IMA), (INA), (AFA) and (OTA). You may acquire a detailed UPSC CDS exam selection procedure.
UPSC CDS EXAM SELECTION PROCEDURE
Written Exam
- Written Exam consists of Objective Type questions
- Time duration 2hrs
- Maximum marks is 100 for each subject.
- For applicants who are appearing for IMA, NA, AFA written test comprising of English, GK and Elementary maths subjects
- For applicants who will appear for officers training academy the written test comprising of English and General Knowledge.
- Applicants who will declared successful in the written exam will be detailed for intelligence and personality test at SSB based on their preference
Interview/ Personality Test
Applicants who will selected in written test are called for interview.
SSB process consists of two stage selection process-Stage I and Stage II.
Only those applicants who will pass stage I they will be allowed to appear for Stage II.
Stage I of UPSC CDS SELECTION PROCESS 2023:Comprises of (OIR) tests are (P&DT).
Applicants will be shortlisted based on combination of performance in QIR Test and PP and DT.
Stage II of UPSC CDS SELECTION PROCESS 2023: Comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officers Tasks, Psychology Tests and the conference.
These tests are conducted over 4 days.
- Personality of applicant is assessed by three different assessor’s viz. the interviewing Officer, (GTO) and the Psychologist.
- There are no separate weightage for each test.
- Marks will be allotted by assessors only after taking into consideration the performance of students holistically in the entire test.
Document Verification
Document Verification will be conducted only after students will qualify for Interview/Personality Test.
Medical Exam
- Applicants will undergo a medical exam by a Board of Service Medical Officers.
- Women candidates will undergo Medical Exam by a Medical Board comprising male/ female doctors/ specialists/ Gynaecologist.
- There will be a Lady Medical Officer as member of Board.
- Only those applicants will be admitted to the Academy who are declared fit by the Medical Board.
