Union Public Service Commission will organize the Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination. Following is the Selection Process of IES/ISS Exam. Dear students you are advised to prepare well for the exam.
Selection Procedure:
Selection Procedure includes various stages of Recruitment Procedure
- Written Exam
- Interview/ Personality Test
Written Exam:
- The written exam will be organized for 1000 marks.
- The time duration for Statistics-I, II Exam in Indian Statistical Service will be 2 hours, So you need to prepare yourself accordingly
- The time duration for the remaining subjects will be 3 hours.
- General English and General Studies consist of 100 marks each and remaining subjects carries 200 marks for each subject.
- There will be negative marking for the incorrect reply.
- Applicants who qualify in the written exam will be called for interview.
Interview:
- Applicants will be interviewed by a Board of competent and unbiased observers who will have before them a record of his/her career.
- The objective of the interview is to review his/her appropriateness for the Service for which he/she has competed.
- The interview is planned to increase the written test for testing the general and specialized information and aptitude of applicants.
- The technique of the interview is not that of a strict cross test, but of a natural, though directed and purposive discussion, intended to reveal mental qualities of students and his/her grasp of problems.
- Board will pay extraordinary attention to reviewing the intellectual inquisitiveness, critical powers of integration, the balance of judgment and attentiveness of mind, the ability for social consistency, the integrity of character, beginning and capability of leadership.
